Concerning. The world unemployment trend is reaching its alarming peak by early 2009.

United States for example reached 7.2% at the end of 2008 and hits 16 years high to 7.6% by January this year. The rise puts the unemployment rate at the highest level since 1992.

According to Malaysia Institute of Economics Research (MIER), jobless rate in Malaysia can reach to 4.5% this year.

Economist Datuk Dr. Zainal Aznan Yusof predicted that Malaysia unemployment rate will continue to climb at an alarming rate and at one point will hit the 6.0% mark.
